Call me paranoic, but for some reason I tend to believe this is a kind of move designed to kill the free java alternatives and keep the market controlled.
@mones: I suppose this will have that effect, yes, but these projects’ goal was to have a free Java, so it seems that they reached their goal ! And I’m sure their existence is part of the reason of Sun’s move. Without them, nothing may have changed…
