When did you start using Sylpheed-Claws?

Quick poll :)

I discovered Sylpheed then Sylpheed-Claws in December 2001. Started with Sylpheed version 0.6.6 (GTK+ 1.2.10; ), then after one month and two patches integrated in -Claws, switched to Sylpheed version 0.7.0claws (GTK+ 1.2.10; i686-pc-linux-gnu).

Didn’t look back since then…

What about you? (use an extended search in your sent folder, like:

header “X-Mailer” matchcase “sylpheed”

To me, the old live archive I had is dated september 11, 2002. I think that it’s older than that, but I have to search on cds to check the correct info ;)

For information, I’ll began with sylpheed, before using claws.

I still use sylpheed-claws and I’m a french fan. Keep goin’

I started in April 2002, with Sylpheed 0.7.5 on IRIX.

Switched to claws 0.9.0 in June 2003.

Every now and then I have a look at the alternatives, but nothing seems to fit
    me better than claws.

    Thanks!

    (sort by reverse date :-))

    About me, I found :
    - for Sylpheed : 11 Apr 2002 , a bug report on textview
    13 Apr 2002 : a first little patch :-)
    - for SC : 2002-08-29, a bug report too on folder font used.

This page can help you to identify which version you used :
    http://sourceforge.net/news/in.....;offset=50

For me, if it’s not 0.7.6claws, I’m sure it’s 0.7.8claws (I remember the Bounce -> Redirect). But I don’t remember the last cvs version used.

( ! ) It could be good to archive all release in SC website.

I’ve started using both Sylpheed 0.5.1 and Sylpheed-Claws 0.5.2 (yes, at the same time or alternatively) around August 2001, after few years w/ KMail, mostly. Written patches for Sylpheed and Sylpheed-Claws up to version 1.0.1, then I’ve permanently switched to -Claws, as a contributor (then I joined the team).

Took me a long time to stop using elm, I liked the fact that the emails where just in flat files. Then I found Sylpheed and I haven’t used anything else since.

About in 2000 i tried MANY graphical linux email clients (light, fast and usefull - i still used a 486@160Mhz with 64Mb ram at that time) and the ones i most liked were the pronto (a perl email client) and sylpheed 0.4.?, but as sylpheed had some problems at the time, i used pronto… after some months (about 6-10) i read that the new sylpheed 0.5 fixed several big bug, so i tested it again and i liked it… pronto was good, but it stopped being updated and also had some problems, and i also didnt like storing the emails in a database, being able to read the email with mutt in a ssh sessions was one of my goals

After a new migration i liked sylpheed 0.5.x more and more, and it was getting lost of new features… after about a year i decided to try claws because of the features and i liked it even more. The dev were adding more and more great features and i never looked back, sylpheed does almost everything that i need, its still very fast and with the plugins its even better

So i would point about to September 2001 when i started to use sylpheed and about December of 2002 to claws. i havent the exact dates because i had one major HD lost a in about 2003 and use too many emails to keep tracking :)

anyway, thanks for sylpheed and sylpheed claws
