Well, the patent item is pretty moot, more worrisome is the nature of the process behind keeping it as an “A”-item.

This is the main pitfall of the european mentality : “democracy does not concern the people except when their opinion matches Ours” - probably a taste of the French strategy recently demonstrated on TV about the school system: “I [minister of education] do not gamble on school’s future depending on the number of people claiming in the streets of our cities. School needs reform, this reform will be done. (François Fillon, Head of Education ministry)” - i.e. we - people - are not skilled to deal with social or economics, so we have to shut up : welcome to democracy.
